Event Description:
How to Survive HR With Only Minor Bumps and Bruises?
Whether you have chosen the occupation of HR voluntarily or you have entered into it by default, you know Human Resources is an exciting and ever-changing field.  The approach to managing the function needs to expand in order to truly become a strategic partner in the business.

This workshop will include practical information with the focus on ?HOW? more than the ?WHAT?, including did you know? topics to help you navigate through key HR topics.  The two-day program will also equip you with the knowledge and the skills you need to translate strategies into actions. This workshop will include:
  • Managing Leaves Effectively:  What to Avoid, What to Say, How and When to Communicate
  • How to Get Employees Back to Work and What to Do If They Won't or Can't
  • Sick Leave, Minimum Wage, Pending FLSA Changes?Where Are We Now and What Has Changed?
  • Think the I-9 is simply a 2-page document?  Think again!
  • What?s New in the Background Check Arena and What?s Coming?
  • Changes for 2017:  Looking Back and Looking Forward
This is more than a general overview class; general compliance will be addressed but the focus will be on the implementation.
