SDEA is pleased to feature Wendy Patrick, JD, PhD as our Fall 2016 Strategic Leadership Series speaker!Dr. Patrick's impressive career background includes experience as an author, media commentator with over 850 media appearances, and career trial attorney named as the Public Lawyer of the Year by the California State Bar. Her extensive legal experience, along with her position as President of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and current assignment to the San Diego District Attorney's Special Operations Division (where she handles "cases involving sensitive issues, including threat assessment") make her the perfect voice to educate employers on:
Workplace Violence: Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst
This program will encourage attendees to think differently. The safest mindset in the modern workplace is not paranoia, but preparedness. When the new normal requires us to live offensively and defensively, employers are wise to focus on both prediction and prevention.
This timely program will address the modern reality of violence in the workplace, signs and symptoms of potentially violent employees, workplace conditions conducive to violence, and how planning and preparation improves prevention.
In this interactive program, attendees will:
- Learn to recognize warning signs of potential workplace violence
- Discover some of the common shared characteristics of volatile employees
- Develop counterintuitive strategies and solutions to reacting violence in the workplace
